Information only
Articles are published for general information and inspiration. We work hard to keep them accurate and we list our sources, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete or current. Do not rely on the site as your only source for important decisions.
Mountain and winter safety
Skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, ice travel and backcountry trips carry real risks, including avalanches, falls, hypothermia and fast-changing weather. Our articles are not a substitute for training, a qualified guide or official information. Always check the current avalanche bulletin, weather forecast, trail or lift status and local rules before you go, and turn back when conditions are unsafe.
Advertising and affiliate disclosure
The site shows advertising served by Google AdSense. Some links are affiliate links, for example to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through such a link we may receive a small commission. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not influence what we write.

The text of our articles is © Snow Addiction / RATEBLUE LTD unless stated otherwise. You may share a short excerpt with a link to the original article; please do not copy whole articles.
Photos, videos and quotations from other people belong to their creators. We credit and link them wherever the creator is known. If you own content that appears here and want the credit changed or the content removed, email info@thinkinghumanity.com with the article link and we will act promptly.
