A washing machine stands in the snow, a film crew gets ready, and a large bear wanders into the shot. Samsung's EcoBubble advert begins like a wildlife encounter that has gone very wrong. Then the bear removes its coat and puts it in the wash. The surprise is a carefully staged comedy, released by Samsung in January 2013. [1]

How the bear advert sets up its surprise
The opening borrows the scrappy feel of an interrupted shoot: equipment, people at work, and an animal apparently intruding on the set. A washing machine beside snowy woodland is strange enough to hold attention before anything happens. Once the coat comes off, the film abandons realism and lets the audience in on the joke.
The coat is the punchline
While the wash runs, the bear finds increasingly human ways to pass the time. Samsung's own account describes reading, guitar playing and dancing, before the clean coat supplies the final reveal: the apparently brown bear is a dirty polar bear. The transformation ties the punchline to the appliance instead of leaving the product stranded in the background.

Why a washing machine belongs in this snowy scene
The wintry location makes the campaign's cold-water theme easy to grasp without a long explanation. Visually, the dark coat and white snow also prepare the contrast at the end. That is the advert's central trick: a setting that initially suggests danger becomes part of a domestic chore. It is closer to a short comedy sketch than an appliance demonstration.
A Samsung campaign, not a wildlife encounter
The original post placed the shoot near Manning Park in British Columbia; Samsung's campaign description is the source for the storyline. Neither the bear's household routine nor the apparent crew surprise should be read as natural animal behaviour. Enjoy the timing and the reveal, but treat cleaning-performance claims separately: a funny advert is not an independent comparison of washing machines.
