Free Rope Climbing Half Dome in Yosemite, USA

Yosemite Valley is a popular attraction, which mesmerizes with unique unspoiled nature. Climbers, hikers and backpackers visit the site all year round. Meanwhile Half Dome is an unusual rock formation, which challenges the adventurers and adrenaline lovers.

While there is rather easy and safe Mist Trail Route, that leads to the top, Alex Honnold doesn’t find it interesting at all. He climbs Half Dome and the Phoenix with no rope! He is already famous for free soloing and has climbed various difficult peaks as well as walls. In May 2012 Honnold reached the summit of Half Dome in just 1 hour, 22 minutes. Check out these breathtaking pictures!

Why to go there?: Visit the park and admire its wonderful nature. There are various activities you can choose from: hiking, climbing, camping or base jumping (which isn’t legal though).
When to go there?: Anytime. Although the cables to Half Dome are up from May to October.
How to get there?: Drive Highways 41, 140, and 120. Or go by bus using Amtrak and Greyhound service.
