350 Homeless Cats Wait For This Woman Every Day… The Reason Why Is Awesome.

As temperatures drop below zero, stray cats are left on their own to fend for themselves; finding food and shelter becomes about survival. In Istanbul, Turkey there is a woman by the name of Vera who has made it her mission to feed hundreds of felines.

Vera goes out everyday to feed approximately 350 cats in the coastal area of Kartal. The woman works with Atalar Sahili Kedi Kisirlastirma Grubu, a TNR cat group. The team of volunteers also pick up any sick animal to provide veterinary treatment. Tourists from all over the world flock to this exotic, ancient city, now famously known for having a large population of stray cats.

There is cat no shelter in this coastal part of Istanbul.


The felines sleep between the stones to keep warm.


The group requires between 20 to 25 kilograms of food to feed about 350 cats.
